99 acres of Côtes de Provence AOC and IGP vines in the Var, Château Saint-Roux produces five organic wines: three rosés with different personalities, a white and a red.
• Our Côtes de Provence AOP rosé wine, currently converting to organic growing, naturally flies the flag of the "Château Saint-Roux" domain name.
• Friponne is a reflection of the generosity and authenticity of the estate. This rosé wine from the Pays des Maures (IGP Maures) is fresh and light
• Assembled by us, the “Le Pigeonnier” wines reflect the spirit of Saint-Roux. They exist in red, white & rosé.
The estate's orange and vermilion soil is at the origin of the name Saint Roux. Rich in iron and bauxite, its essential nutrients produce very aromatic wines.
Planted in a windy corridor, the vines are naturally protected from disease and therefore ideally suited to organic farming.
Our wines are elaborated using natural, local yeasts to procure intense aromas, a rich character and unique signature, in line with our commitment to expressing the terroir as faithfully as possible. Unique among Côtes de Provence AOP wines, this approach allows us to produce genuinely typical wines.
The vineyard co-manages an experimental plot with the Var Chamber of Agriculture, used to analyse the behaviour of various grapes in the aim of adapting to global warming. The plot is planted with drought-resistant and typical southern varietals: Mourvèdre Gris, Mourvèdre Blanc, Touriga Nacional, Calabrese and Mavrud.
The ideal venue for discovering our wines out on the terrace or by the fire. The café is also a great place to pore over our home-grown organic produce and local farm fare. Create your own salad with our vegetable hampers when you pop in for coffee or an afternoon snack.
